Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy

Psychedelic assisted psychotherapy (PAP) is a form of treatment that uses certain psychedelics, mainly Ketamine, MDMA, and Psilocybin, to facilitate insight and breakthroughs within a psychotherapeutic framework.

As a certified Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapist, I have witnessed the profound healing effects of such substances on mood and thought patterns. The substances work by activating receptors within brain cells that promote new brain cell connections. What this means is that one can experience their past trauma, their identity, or unhealthy thought patterns in a new way, one that promotes safety, hopefulness, and acceptance. The cathartic nature of psychedelics is compounded with the safety and security provided by the therapist, thus helping an individual elicit their own internal wisdom and find a path towards healing.

How does it work? I work closely with a Nurse Practitioner that provides a medical evaluation and prescription. After this point, you and I will meet for a preparation session, followed by a guided psychedelic journey (lasting anywhere from 2-6 hours depending on the substance). Within a few days, a series of integration sessions will be conducted to help an individual incorporate the experience into daily life.
